Dr. Sami Duckett offers Dynamic Body Balancing in the office. Dynamic Body Balancing (DBB) is a form of craniosacral therapy and myofascial unwinding taught by Dr. Carol Phillips, a renowned Chiropractor, doula, and author who specializes in the care of pregnant women, infants, including newborns, and children.
Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and balancing the function of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system. This system includes the covering of the brain and spinal cord, the cerebrospinal fluid, and the musculoskeletal system, including the fascia of the body. By addressing the craniosacral system, the balance of the autonomic nervous system can be addressed, as can the function of the cranial nerves and the balance of the tissues of the body.
Dynamic Body Balancing is great for all complications of pregnancy and childhood, as it aims to restore proper balance and function; and who needs this more than a pregnant mom and child? If there is pain during pregnancy, there is a complication and an imbalance. If there is dysfunction in a mother or child, there is an imbalance somewhere. DBB serves to restore balance and harmony to the whole body.
The Cleveland Clinic describes Craniosacral therapy as “A gentle hands-on technique that uses a light touch to examine membranes and movement of the fluids in and around the central nervous system. Relieving tension in the central nervous system promotes a feeling of well-being by eliminating pain and boosting health and immunity.” They also provide a list of conditions that CST may help including chronic pain, fibromyalgia, migraine headaches, complex regional pain syndrome, multiple sclerosis, neuralgia, neurodegenerative diseases, Temporo-mandibular joint syndrome, stroke, post-concussion syndrome, speech impairment and epilepsy.
